Office Politician
Starting at age 3, I was raised in the famous town of Chappaqua, NY. The name Chappaqua probably sounds familiar because it was the home of the well known 19th century journalist, and co-founder of the GOP - Horace Greeley. It was here that the stage name "Jaska" was first discovered, but its usage was not prevalent until several years later. After high school, I got lost in some corn fields and somehow earned a B.S. in CompE at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
The topics I studied in Illinois, provided motivation to learn more and discover new things which led me to graduate studies at Rice University in Houston, TX with advisor Rich Baraniuk. My academic interests consist of topics related to Digital Signal Processing (DSP). DSP is mathematics that allow for computers to understand the natural world. There is music too - my guitar and ringing ears can testify. In July 2006, I helped to co-found Rejecta Publications, a non-profit association which provides open access publication to forgotten papers. I have been running for mayor since 2005. My management skills are best displayed with the small coffee shop which I own and operate. Cafe 2118, as most patrons will tell you, supports free coffee and socializing services to an entire village of graduate students. No sugar or milk are provided in the cafe proper but this does not seem to hinder business. We brew in various styles from drip and french press, to greek frappe. Check the cafe's official webpage for drink details and hours. You will find my contact info below.
